CCO Patient Orthodontic Treatment in Niagara Park
We want to share with you the Orthodontic journey of our 15-year-old patient from Niagara Park.
His dentist referred him to have orthodontic treatment at Central Coast Orthodontics because of discomfort caused by a deep bite and dental crowding.
Deep bite is a bite problem in which the upper front teeth excessively overlap the lower front teeth when the mouth is closed. This often causes the lower front teeth to bite into the palate or gum tissue behind the upper front teeth – which is the primary concern of this patient.
Aside from a deep bite, we noticed that he had severe overjet or “buck teeth”. An overjet is when the upper teeth protrude outward and sit over the bottom teeth. Having an overjet may not only affect your appearance, but it can also cause difficulty in chewing, drinking, and biting. It may even cause jaw pain.
After a thorough orthodontic examination, we installed upper and lower braces and elastics to correct his bite.
