CCO Patient Orthodontic Treatment in Green Point

We want to share with you the Orthodontic journey of our 16-year-old patient from Green Point.

He was referred to us by his general dentist because of mild crowding & a posterior crossbite.

Posterior crossbite is when the top back teeth bite down inside the bottom back teeth. It occurs when the top teeth or jaw are narrower than the bottom teeth and can happen on one or both sides of the mouth.

A crossbite isn’t just a cosmetic problem. For adults, an ongoing crossbite can cause other symptoms like pain in the jaw or teeth, tooth decay, sleep apnea, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders and frequent headaches.

After a thorough discussion with his parents, we installed upper and lower braces to correct his bite.

After 21 months of wearing braces, we straightened his teeth and corrected his bite. He and his parents were delighted with the outcome!
